Position Begins: Mid to late October Description: Candidates should possess the ability to teach the full range of homeroom content areas, including literacy, mathematics, and social studies. In addition, candidates should demonstrate the ability to create developmentally appropriate curricula, establish a nurturing and engaging classroom environment for students, and work collaboratively with a teaching partner, various colleagues, and parents/guardians. Candidates should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, along with knowledge regarding best instructional practices in language arts, social studies, and mathematics. Preferred qualifications include previous experience with Responsive Classroom, Singapore Math, Wilson Fundations, and/or Fountas & Pinnell Classroom materials. Successful candidates are expected to carry out the mission of SPA, "Shaping the minds and hearts of the people who will change the world," to support the vision of the Lower School and to contribute to the life of the school outside of the classroom.
